NANA’S HOME

"Nana's Home. Nani #1 Spoiler!" reads a sign placed on the window sill of my grandparent's house in Toronto. This piece reflects how Toronto might be viewed by my South Asian immigrant grandparents where neighborhoods with familiar people, smells, and sounds appear larger in their mental image of Toronto than they lay on the earth. Patterns evocative of Pakistani truck art are set as the backdrop to reflect how the places my Nana and Nani grew up in are the lens through which they view every new space they visit and may even call home.
