RELATIONSHIP WITH DEATH

“A new passion project I'm developing using ghost imagery and different editing styles to achieve more cinematic styles.”

IDENTITY MALFUNCTION

BY ZINEB ALLAOUI | @ZINEBALLAOUI

"These are not just lines, these are my emotions.
Imagining a fictional world in my biological reality.
I am not desiring it, I am just observing and painting the confusion away.
But are you a boy or a girl?
This question brings me back to reality.
I am challenging my patriarchy with black paint on a white canvas
Naturally creating characters with no gender.
Does it have to do with my lack of femininity or the need for more masculinity?
Trying my best not to fall into the trap of having to choose between two things that equally make me who I am."

A CRITICAL APPROACH TO MANIFESTATION

BY HILARY THURSTON | @THETAROTOLOGIST

As a Tarot Card Reader, Mental Health Counsellor and PhD candidate specializing in Critical Theory, I find myself pulled between two positions in the discourse about the validity of manifestation as a spiritual practice. The popular spiritual concept of manifestation is based on the Law of Attraction, which contends that your emotional energy attracts like circumstances…

MARK SIZZUM IS SLEAZING THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION IN THE NOVA SCOTIA DRAG SCENE

BY ROWAN O’BRIEN | @ROWANOHBEE

In Dungeons and Dragons, magic is divided into eight categories. The magic of creation — making something physically tangible out of an idea — is known as “conjuration”. You may be surprised to find out that conjuration wizards exist in the real world, and one of the most powerful mages I know is Halifax-based drag king Mark Sizzum…

In the future                    we are stars

fuming balls of gaseous

                                             light

already dead

                     or in the process of

dying

our bodies         full with fire

                     blood curdling to magma

incandescent to a small speck

millions of light years          away

                    important only in our

vastness

our slow      spread         across skies

our echo spark

more beautiful         as a memory

              then if they saw us

raw and            breaking apart the night
